NORMAPME, the "European Office of Crafts, Trades and SMEs for Standardisation" is the only European organisation exclusively devoted to the interests of Small and Medium sized Enterprises in the European standardisation system. Its members represent over 12 million enterprises in all European countries, including all EU and EFTA member states. The European Commission supports NORMAPME since its creation in 2001. Presently, NORMAPME carries out a contract of the European Commission offering standardisation services to Small and Medium Sized Enterprises.
NORMAPME is looking to recruit a full time: 

Web and Communication Officer

Position responsibilities and tasks:

1. designing and implementing NORMAPME's press strategy
2. contacting journalists, issuing coherent policy messages (press releases, etc.)
3. liaising with press officers from member organisations
4. managing the content and design of the association's website (html, CMS)
5. drafting and editing a regular newsletter, brochures and annual report (MS Publisher)
6. coordinating the launch of NORMAPME Intranet platform
7. training and educating NORMAPME staff on communication skills

Profile and specific competencies:

1. excellent writing and editing skills
2. near native English, excellent French; German is an asset
3. outstanding interpersonal skills: ability to make contacts, persuasive and persistent
4. experience in journalism, communications or PR
5. demonstrated ability and willingness to work as part of a multicultural team

NORMAPME offers traineeships each year. To be considered for a traineeship position, please submit your CV and letter of application to the Normapme secretariat info@normapme.com.  

NORMAPME offers young professionals, university students and degree holders (engineering, economics, management, political science, international relations, law, languages) a work experience of 3 to 6 months. Fluent knowledge of the English language is required and knowledge of any other European language represents an asset.
Specific tasks relate to the NORMAPME actions of participation in technical committees, implementation of the principle "think small first" at all levels of the standardisation policy making process, awareness raising among all SME organizations and the SME advisory service for experts.
General tasks relate to office management, assistance with research and projects, assistance with various administrative tasks and translations.

Very limited financial assistance is available for trainees who benefit from a stipend in the framework of a European trainee programme (such as Leonardo da Vinci). Limited financial assistance is available for self financing trainees; in this case the amount is negotiated according to availability and formation. Any candidate needs to be able to demonstrate having subscribed to accident and civil liability insurance before the internship period starts.

Prime periods of traineeships are from September to January and from January to July.
