New standards

For the most accurate information on the latest standards that have come into force you should contact your national standardisation organisation. Some of the NSOs provide service that would keep you updated on the appearance of new standards in the field of your interest.

As for the European organisations (ESOs) CEN publishes on its website a list of the latest publications that includes European Standards (EN), CEN Workshop Agreements (CWA), CEN Technical Specifications (CEN/TS) and CEN Technical Reports (CEN/TR).

CENELEC also publishes a list of standards published in the last month which can be found in the section "CENELEC in action" under the headline "Just published".

However, ETSI does not provide at the moment any specific information on the newly adopted standards.

A list of the standards published by CEN in 2008 can be found HERE

A list of the standards published by CEN in 2009 can be found HERE

New mandates

Mandates relate to the standardisation work requested from the ESOs by the European Commission/EFTA.

The most recent mandates accepted by CEN can be found in its monthly publication - CEN Sector News. You can also find the information on the mandated standardisation projects in areas covered by the "New Approach" directives.

CENELEC publishes the complete list of the adopted mandates on its website in the section "Technical work" under the headline "Mandates".

ETSI does not provide any information on the mandates.

An overview of the mandates published in the last 12 months and an assessment of their relevance to SMEs can be found HERE

An overview of draft mandates recently issued by the European Commission and an assessment of their relevance to SMEs can be found HERE

A synthesis of recent mandates of interest to SMEs and a call for interest to SMEs on those mandates and standardisation works can be found on the consultation page.

New work projects

The information on the newly started projects and new work items is not provided by the ESOs. In the CEN website, though, you can find the information on the standards under development in the TCs. Please contact your NSOs to obtain more details on the new and ongoing work in the TCs.
