* Membership conditions

Membership in NORMAPME is open to all SME organisations and other organisations that promote SME interests. The conditions for membership are specified in the statutes as follows: Membership fees are reviewed every 4 years. They are presently set at €2,500 per annum for members of UEAPME who already pay more significant membership fees to our sister organisation. By decision of the board of NORMAPME on November 27th, 2009 the membership fees for organisations that are not members of UEAPME are double the fees applied to members. Thus, at present the membership fees for non UEAPME members are set at €5,000 per annum.

Below an extract from the statute of NORMAPME that deals with the membership:

TITLE III. - Members

Art.4

The members of NORMAPME are:

Effective Members

  • The founding members;
  • The representative European organisations of craft, and/or small end medium sized enterprises in industry in the European Member States, that, represented by at least two associates, are admitted in this category by decision of the General assembly by at least the two-thirds of those present and voting.
  • The representative European federation of branches, European associations of young entrepreneurs or organisations of assisting spouses that, presented by at least two associates, are admitted in this category by decision of the General assembly by at least the two-thirds of those present and voting.

They are considered to be full members as they are entitled to vote through representatives they have designed.

Associates Members

Associates members are:

  • European or national cross-sectorial associations, representing craft activities, and/or small and medium-sized enterprises from trade and industry in the Member States of the European Union;
  • European federations representative of branches, European associations of young entrepreneurs and organisations of assisting spouses;
  • National associations of craft industries and of SME businesses from European countries that are not members of the European Union
  • All kinds of institutions and organisations involved in any way with craft activities and/or SME businesses

Associate members can take part in NORMAPME meetings, except the board meetings, however without voting rights.

Art.5

Any body desiring to become a member must send a request in writing to the Administrative Council. The Administrative Council will examine the application and present this application at the next General assembly that takes the final decision at the two-third majority of members present. It is carried by letter missive at the knowledge of the candidate. The nonallowed candidate can represent himself only after one year as from the date of the decision of the General assembly.

Art. 6

Full and Associate Members can withdraw from the association at the end of a calendar year. Such a decision must be communicated by registered letter before the first of October.

Is considered resigning any member if it fails to pay the agreed contributions within one month of asking, which is addressed to it by registered letter.

The Administrative Council can suspend, until a decision of the General Assembly, the members which have breached the statutes or the interests and spirit of the association.

The exclusion of any member can only be effected by a two thirds majority of those present and voting at a General Assembly. The member to be expelled has to be invited in order that it can defend itself.

Art. 7

A member which withdraws or is expelled from the association is not entitled to the assets of the association or its legal successors in title.
