DOSAM – The sector of dental laboratories represents about 42 000 dental labs in Europe. The majority of them are SMEs. Currently, it is not possible to evaluate and compare the knowledge and quality level of dental technicians from different countries. This project, in the framework of Leonardo da Vinci programme, aims at creating generic occupational standards (GOS) at European level. The work will also contribute to broader developments in the dental technology where the profession is under pressure to evolve new work areas to meet the demands of emerging technologies and of life long learning. The project coordinated by FEPPD begun in October 2005 and runs until October 2007.

In addition to the service contract that NORMAPME has with the European Commission, we were involved in other European projects:
- Business Support programme I – BSP I is the conjunction of two projects with the European Commission: SME Excellence and SMECA. In this framework, Normapme wrote a training tool on European standardisation and quality management.
- Business Support programme II - BSPII was a program initiated by the European Commission in the Phare framework. It was lead by UEAPME, who was also the BSPI program leader. BSPII and BSPI were set up to help SME associations in candidate and acceding countries to improve their structure and services, in preparation for their country becoming an EU member. BSPII is based on two main activities: twinning and training seminars. NORMAPME as partner has given two seminars, one on standardisation (anchor to standardisation seminar) in October 2003 and one on certification (anchor to certification seminar) in November 2003.
